Uncle Jimbo's Bug Huntin' Range

They left it out in the Oort before we crawled from the sea.
The gate of Paradise.
Or the mouth of Hell.

Emergents

These are the known stable mutant human genotypes in the Nemesis Gate setting. The Emergents have not been established by any evolutionary process, nor are they descendants of a single progenitor. Their convergent abilities are one of the many mysteries that tax the 23rd Century.

Where a genotype is noted as “Spacer only”, the effects of the Spacer adaptation have already been included in the list of mutations. Where noted as “Groundling or Spacer”, all mutants of that genotype gain all the stated mutations, and Spacers also gain the effect of the Environmental Adaptation (Low Gravity) mutation if not already listed.

Back To Human Heroes

Shanghai: Arising from the irradiated East Asian Protectorate of the UN, these mutants have all of the rights, if not the respect, given to other UN citizens.
Background: UN or any corporation
Spacer: Groundling or Spacer
Mutations: Increased Balance, New Body Parts (1-4 tentacles)

Kabul: These descendants of Pakistani refugees and Afghans affected by fallout have begun to return to the Indo-Pakistan Protectorate.
Background: Non-Integrated or UN
Spacer: Groundling only
Mutations: Environmental Sensitivity (Damp, Moderate), Reduced INT, Improved Reflexes, Natural Attack, Poison Attack (Paralytic, Insinuative)

East Coast Abominate: Found in small, shunned communities in the wilder parts of the eastern North American seaboard, some of these mutants have emigrated to the UN state of Quebec to escape USH persecution.
Background: USH or UN
Spacer: Groundling only
Mutations: Deadly Immunity, choose one of the following: Acid Touch, Electric Aura, Dermal Plating, Hyper Healing, Enhanced Metabolism, Improved STR, Improved DEX, Improved INT, Improved Reflexes, Improved Senses, Metamorphosis, Natural Attack, Photogeneration, Redundant Vital Organs, Skeletal Enhancement, Thermal Vision

Martian Outcast: The USH has attempted to deal with the problem of the Abominate communities by large-scale roundups, highly damaging gene therapy, and exile to the Martian colonies. The mutants beginning to emerge from the cosmic radiation sleeting down on Mars tend to interbreed with these outcasts to a large extent.
Background: USH
Spacer: Groundling only
Mutations: Weak Immunity, Weak Metabolism (Slight), Environmental Adaptation (Low Gravity), choose one of the following: Acid Touch, Electric Aura, Dermal Plating, Hyper Healing, Enhanced Metabolism, Improved STR, Improved DEX, Improved INT, Improved Reflexes, Improved Senses, Natural Attack, Photogeneration, Redundant Vital Organs, Skeletal Enhancement, Thermal Vision

Antarctic Indio: Members of the mutant strain spreading rapidly through the Antarctic Republic sometimes emigrate to the UN state of Chile.
Background: Non-Integrated, UN or USH
Spacer: Groundling only
Mutations: Environmental Sensitivity (Hot, Moderate), Weak Immunity, Environmental Adaptation (Cold), Radiation Tolerance, Improved WIL

Europa: The intense radiation trapped in Jupiter's mighty magnetosphere, as well as poorly understood energies loosed in the Angel Incursion, have begun to have a peculiar and disturbing effect on the citizens of Microsoft's capital world. Some of these mutants emigrate to other parts of Old Sol.
Background: Microsoft, UN or other corporations
Spacer: Spacer only
Mutations: Environmental Sensitivity (Arid, Slight), Environmental Adaptation (Low Gravity), Reduced DEX (Slight), Improved CON, Gills

Nemesid: Over more than a century of human occupation of Nemesis Base, under a succession of rulers, the long-term residents in the quarter known as Snaketown have begun to diverge from the human norm.
Background: UN or any corporation
Spacer: Spacer only
Mutations: Sound Sensitivity, Environmental Adaptation (Low Gravity), Dermal Reinforcement, Improved Senses

Virgin Fellahin: The colonists who have had to fend for themselves on the irradiated Virgin II now form a well-known minority in Virgin Space's fleets. Some have returned to Old Sol to seek other employment.
Background: Virgin, UN or any corporation
Spacer: Groundling or Spacer
Mutations: Photodependent, Environmental Adaptation (Low Gravity), Radiation Tolerance, Biorhythm Control
