Species Abilities

Moisture Dependent: Bwaps require constant moisture on their skins and are only comfortable in Amazing (saturated) humidity. In Good to Ordinary humidity, they maintain hydration using characteristic hooded garments marked in dappled patterns with inner capillary networks, but they can't tolerate Marginal humidity at all and must wear sealed suits. A Bwap exposed to dry conditions without protection suffers an exhaustion challenge each hour.
Unless a GM specifically describes humidity levels, a planet with Abundant or Complete oceans of normal water, a location very close to any water body or a rainforest or swamp biome has Ordinary to Good humidity most of the time. A life support or autosupport system can maintain humidity at any desired level.

Orderly: A Bwap pays 1 less skill point for each Administration specialty skill and for the Physical Science and Social Science broad and specialty skills. This combines with cost reductions for the Tech Op or Diplomat profession.
A Bwap may not learn the Deception broad skill or its specialties (insane Bwaps might attempt such actions, but the minds of such unfortunates are too chaotic to develop a practical understanding of how to succeed in them) and takes a +2 penalty to any check that requires legally questionable actions or interaction with criminals, such as Street Smart-criminal elements or Business-illicit business.


This character, detailed in Freelance Traveller #132, has an unusual history of estrangement from her birth creche, taking up a career within the broader society.
